Toby and A Taste of Fall

Meet Toby, our orange tabby kitty. He's just over 2 years old and a rescue our daughter found in Florida at a friend's house. We had sworn we would have no more pets in our empty nest years, but a small lapse in sanity proved otherwise, so here we are. Likely due to his unknown beginnings and early separation from his mother and siblings, he is an anxious kitty which has resulted in several health issues in his young life. In between his adventures he can be a sweet boy and does keep us entertained...and equally exasperated at times. My husband worked hard last summer/early fall and added a screened porch to the back of our house that we all love, especially Toby. We leave the back door cracked when it's not too hot or cold and he wanders in and out at will. The other day we were both out there and as he picked his way across the back support boards, the sun was peeking just over his shoulder through the trees. It was only a moment, but one filled with anticipation for me as summer seems to be running out of steam and the surrounding world is noticing. Autumn is a beautful season that I feel more of a kinship with as I'm now in the autumn of my own life. I still can't wrap my head around that reality, but it's true nonetheless. There's a lot to process about all of that, but for now I'll just end with this quote that I hope will be true of me as I journey in my later years.
"Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go." ~Unknown

New Beginnings

You have happened across a resurrected site of Pixy Prose. If you look at the archived posts, you'll find two months worth of pictures I took mostly while living in Baltimore years ago and a quote that seemed to fit each picture at the time. I decided to leave those in case you're interested in seeing them, but mostly because I'm not sure how to delete them all and don't care enough to learn! After many years of false starts, I have returned to the most basic of blogging which is to write what I want to say, usually add a picture with a quote, and send it into cyberspace for whoever wants to read it. I've tried to create a website several times only to discover I don't have the technical ability to do so, but more importantly the desire to learn. So here we are...and here's to where we're going...wherever that may be. Welcome!
